Stems elongate, robust, to 1 m long, terete, ca. 1.5 cm in diam.; internodes 2-3 cm long.
Leaves distichous, linear-lorate, 20-25 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, apex unequally 2-lobed, base decurrent, +/- rigidly coriaceous, upper surface dark green, lower surface pale green; sheath convolute, as long as internodes.
Racemes several, from upper part of stem; peduncle and rachis to 40 cm long, erect or ascending; bracts scale-like, 4 mm long; pedicel and ovary 2-3 cm long. Flowers yellowish, with dense irregular brownish red blotches, 3.5 cm across; sepals spatulate, 1.8 cm long, 7-9 mm wide, rounded or obtuse at apex, narrowed at base, dorsal sepal often retuse, lateral sepal oblique, slightly shorter and broader; petals falcate, 1.7 cm long, 7-8 mm wide, clawed at base; lip whitish, with brown spots, spurred, 3-lobed, 1.5 cm long, lateral lobes erect, semiorbicular or triangular, midlobe fleshy, thickened, widened from base and then abruptly narrowed to a hairy caudate, recurved tip, spur conic, 5 mm long, stylids of column pubescent; anther ovate-orbicular, pubescent outside.
Capsules trigonous fusiform, 7-8 cm long.
